Max Reimer’s experience with musicals includes work on over 300 productions as a director, choreographer, producer or performer at most of the major regional theatres in every province of Canada, including choreographing The Boys from Syracuse, the first festival-stage musical at the Stratford Festival (member for 3 seasons), and co-writing/co-directing Encore! that played a command performance for the Duke and Duchess of York at the Charlottetown Festival (member for 7 seasons).
Max served as both the Artistic Director and General Manager at Huron Country Playhouse, Theatre Aquarius, the Vancouver Playhouse and Manitoba Theatre for Young People (interim). Max’s business awards include a Lt. Governor’s Award for Business Excellence in the Arts, a Hamilton Tourism Award, and he was the first mentor of the Canada Council’s John Hobday Award for business mentorship. Max’s artistic awards for directing include a Calgary Critics Award for Chicago and a Jessie Award for The Drowsy Chaperone that went on to play at the Citadel and National Arts Centre.
